Put Your Wishes in Order, Quietly and in Good Time
Birch River Horizon helps you write down what you want, tell the people who need to know, and see which steps belong to a lawyer, a notary or a doctor. We organise and explain. We do not practise law, tax or medicine.
Everything on this site is general information. It is not legal, tax, medical or financial advice, and it does not promise any outcome. Read the disclaimer before you rely on it.
A Plan Is a Kindness to the People Who Stay
Most families do not argue over money so much as over guessing. Where is the policy? Did Mother want a quiet funeral? Who has the login to the photo account? Planning ahead is mostly the work of answering those questions while you can still answer them yourself, and putting the answers where they will be found.
Notes Written for You
No fill-in-the-blanks template. We start from your family, your home and what you are worried about, and write the plan around that.
Paperwork Explained, Not Replaced
We explain what a will, a notarial deed or a property registration is for and who prepares it. The legal documents themselves are handled by licensed professionals.
Digital Accounts, Listed Safely
We help you list your accounts and where the recovery details are kept, without writing any password into the plan.
Talking It Through With Family
We can help you plan who to tell, what to say and when, so that nobody learns your wishes for the first time at the worst moment.
Room to Change Your Mind
Homes, health and relationships change. Come back when something does and we will go through the notes again; extra work is quoted before it starts.
Seven Topics, Each Kept Small and Clear
Pick one topic or several. Each one ends with something you can hold: a note, a list, a folder, a set of questions for the right professional.
Inheritance & Asset Overview
We help you list what you own and who might be affected, then note the questions to take to a lawyer or tax accountant. We map; they advise.
Inheritance detailsWill Preparation Support
Plain-language talk through the kinds of will used in Japan and what you want to say in yours. A licensed professional or notary prepares the valid document.
Will support detailsDigital Legacy Notes
A written list of devices, accounts and subscriptions, plus who should be told where it is kept. We never ask you to hand over passwords.
Digital notes detailsFamily Memory & Legacy Recording
Guided prompts for letters, audio or video messages and a family history you record yourself, so your voice stays in the family.
Legacy recording pageCare & Medical Wishes Notes
Put your wishes about care, treatment and who should speak for you into words, ready for the talk with your doctor. Not medical advice.
Care wishes detailsFuneral & Memorial Pre-Planning
Write down the kind of farewell you would like, from ceremony style to who should be told first, so your family is not guessing.
Funeral notes detailsDocument Organization Support
Sort the policies, deeds, bank details and contact lists into one folder your family can find. The folder stays with you.
Document folder detailsThree Situations We Are Often Asked About
These are illustrative sketches written to show what a first conversation might cover. They are not client accounts, and no real person is quoted.
A parent who wants it settled
Someone in their sixties with a house, two children living in different cities and a drawer of unlabelled documents. The first step is usually a list of what exists, then a question for a notary about the will.
An adult child starting the talk
A son or daughter who would like to ask their parents about care wishes and does not know how to begin. We help find the words and the right moment; the parents decide what to say.
Someone with a life lived online
A person with several email accounts, a cloud photo library and subscriptions on a card. We help list them so a family member knows what exists and whom to ask.
From a First Message to a Folder Your Family Can Find
No sales calls and no deadline. You set the pace, and you can stop after any step.
A Free First Conversation
Send the form below or call. We talk about what is on your mind, which of the seven topics matter, and whether we are the right help at all. Phone, video or a meeting is agreed when we reply.
A Short List of What to Cover
We write down the topics you want to work on, what you already have, and what is missing. You see the list before anything else happens.
Writing It Down Together
Notes, lists and drafts in your own words, at the pace you choose. If you hire us beyond the first conversation, the scope and fee are agreed in writing first.
Handing Over the Legal Steps
Where a will, a registration, a tax matter or a medical decision is involved, we mark it and explain which kind of professional handles it. You contact them yourself; we do not name or recommend firms here.
Coming Back When Life Changes
A move, a new grandchild, a diagnosis, a death in the family: any of these is a reason to look at the notes again. Ask us, and we will quote the time it needs.
Start Where You Are
You do not need documents, a diagnosis or a decision. Tell us in a few lines what you would like to settle, and we will reply on a business day with how we could help, or with a note that someone else is the better fit.
Straight Answers Before You Write to Us
The questions below come up before almost every first conversation.
No. Plenty of people start in their forties or fifties, often after a parent’s illness or a change at home. The notes are easier to write when nothing is urgent, and easier to update later than to start from nothing in a crisis.
Many families feel that way, and nobody here will push you. We simply find that writing a wish down is a different act from inviting the thing it describes. If a topic is too heavy today, we skip it and leave it for another day.
The first conversation is free. Beyond that we do not publish a price list, because the work depends on what you ask for. Any fee is sent to you in writing, with the scope, before work begins. Fees of notaries, lawyers, registrars and tax accountants are separate and are paid to them directly. See the commercial notice for details.
No. We help you list which accounts exist and where the recovery information is kept, such as a password manager or a sealed envelope at home. We do not ask for, store or hold your passwords or ID numbers, and we ask you not to send them through the form.
For a legally valid will, an inheritance registration, a guardianship arrangement or a tax filing, yes: those are done by licensed professionals, such as a lawyer, a notary, a judicial scrivener or a tax accountant. Our part comes before and around that work: getting your thoughts and papers ready so those appointments go smoothly.
No. We are not a medical service and cannot give medical advice. We can help you write down what matters to you and prepare questions for your own doctor, who is the right person to explain the options for your health.
A Planning Service, Not a Law Office
What we do and what we leave to othersBirch River Horizon is a small planning-support service. We sit with you, ask the questions a calm friend would ask, and turn the answers into notes and lists your family can use. We do not hold any legal, tax or medical qualification on this site, and we do not claim one.
When the work reaches a will, a registration, a tax return or a medical decision, we say so plainly and point you to the kind of licensed professional who handles it. The photographs on this site are illustrations; they do not show our clients or staff.
